Review: Robert Earl Keen – Best

I got a copy of the new Robert Earl Keen CD entitled Best this weekend. It has 18 Classic Keen songs.

  1. No Kinda Dancer (From No Kinda Dancer 1984)
  2. Willie (From No Kinda Dancer 1984)
  3. Armadillo Jackal (From No Kinda Dancer 1984)
  4. Paint The Town Beige (From A Bigger Piece of Sky 1992)
  5. Whenever Kindness Fails (From A Bigger Piece of Sky 1992)
  6. Corpus Christi Bay (From A Bigger Piece of Sky 1992)
  7. Merry Christmas From The Family (From No. 2 Live Dinner 1995)
  8. The Road Intro (From No. 2 Live Dinner 1995)
  9. The Road Goes On Forever (From No. 2 Live Dinner 1995)
  10. Furnace Fan (From Farm Fresh Onions 2003)
  11. All I Have Is Today (From Farm Fresh Onions 2003)
  12. Let The Music Play (From Farm Fresh Onions 2003)
  13. For Love (From What I Really Mean 2005)
  14. Mr. Wolf And Mama Bear (From What I Really Mean 2005)
  15. Ride (From What I Really Mean 2005)
  16. Feeling Good Again (From Live At The Ryman 2006)
  17. Gringo Honeymoon (From Live At The Ryman 2006)
  18. I’m Comin’ Home (From Live At The Ryman 2006)

This is a must have for any REK fan! From the Swing feel of “Willie” to the comical “Merry Christmas” & “Mr. Wolf and Mama Bear” This CD covers the spectrum of REK very well. Up-tempo hits like “The Road Goes on Forever” and “All I Have Is Today” really get your feet tapping. When the ballad like song “I’m Comin’ Home” plays it makes you feel like grabbing the one you love and hittin’ the dance floor!

All in all I give Best a 5 of 5 rating!
