Austin Live Music Academy

Are you a young musician more interested in rocking than going to college? The Austin Live Music Academy would like a moment of your time.

The University of Texas has launched the Austin Live Music Academy, the university’s first certificate program in popular music.

Susan Walker, who with her husband, musician Jerry Jeff Walker, urged UT to start the academy and helped raise money for it, said she thinks the program is a perfect fit for Austin and a long time coming.

The first class of 12 will begin in the fall.
